It is almost a megabyte in size and we kept it that way to preserve the fantastic detail that can be seen. This photo is generously provided to Historic River Road Collection© by Mr. Jacob Wilbert who received it from his grandfather, the late George Wilbert. Jacob is presently restoring his grandfather's story and a half raised cottage, facing the bayou Plaquemine and located next to the mill. The house was built by Capt. John Calhoun Brown whose steam boat is seen parked right in front of his house. This is the St. Johns Cemetery headstone of Capt. John Calhoun Brown. We sincerely thank Mr. Jacob Wilbert for sharing this photo with us and now with you.
